Its INCI names are Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. Composed of two "matrikines", these peptides interact with specific receptors to activate genes involved in wound repair, regulating key processes such as fibroblast recruitment, cell proliferation, keratinocyte adhesion and anchorage, and extracellular matrix synthesis. It also exerts significant regenerative and repairing effects on age-related skin damage.

Specific sequences in extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins stimulate beneficial skin components such as type I and type III collagen and fibronectin. DF402 Oat β-Glucan
FLG and Caspase-14 are two key factors reflecting skin barrier function and serve as important targets for endogenous moisturization strategies. Severe deficiencies in their expression can lead to a significant reduction in stratum corneum NMF (natural moisturizing factors), dehydration of the stratum corneum, impaired skin barrier function, and the onset of various skin diseases. A mild decrease in their expression may reduce the water-holding capacity of the stratum corneum, causing dry skin and triggering multiple suboptimal skin conditions. The selected low-molecular-weight oat β-glucan can effectively promote the expression of FLG and Caspase-14, with an excellent dose-response relationship even at low concentrations.

Small-molecule oat β-glucan effectively increases the intracellular calcium ion concentration in keratinocytes by upregulating the expression of CaSR and activating the regulatory effects of CaSR on the PLCγ1 and p120-catenin signaling pathways, thereby promoting keratinocyte differentiation.
Repair Mechanism
Low-molecular-weight oat β-glucan increases the expression of FLG and Caspase-14 in keratinocytes, promoting the production of NMF, enhancing endogenous moisturization, and maintaining skin barrier health.
By upregulating the expression of CaSR in keratinocytes and activating the CaSR-mediated PLC-γ1/catenin pathway, low-molecular-weight oat β-glucan improves the sensitivity of keratinocytes to extracellular Ca²⁺. As a result, even when the Ca²⁺ concentration gradient is disrupted due to epidermal barrier damage, it still promotes the normal differentiation of keratinocytes, ultimately facilitating the repair of epidermal barrier damage.

Experimental results: The screened small-molecule oat β-glucan can effectively promote the expression of FLG and Caspase-14, and presents a favorable dose-effect relationship even at low concentrations.

Experimental results: Small-molecule oat β-glucan effectively promotes the expression of differentiation marker genes Loricrin and Filaggrin in HaCaT cells, thereby facilitating the effective differentiation of keratinocytes.

Immunohistochemical analysis of the dorsal lesion area revealed that the expression levels of differentiation marker proteins—keratin 18 (K18) and filaggrin—in epidermal tissues were significantly higher in the small-molecule oat β-glucan group compared to the control group. Small-molecule oat β-glucan effectively promotes the differentiation of keratinocytes in damaged skin.

Experimental results: Under low calcium concentration conditions, small-molecule oat β-glucan can induce transient and sustained increases in intracellular calcium ion concentrations. This effect persists even when the stratum corneum barrier is compromised and substantial extracellular calcium ions are lost from epidermal cells, thereby elevating intracellular calcium levels in keratinocytes and promoting their normal differentiation.

Mice in the small-molecule oat β-glucan administration group exhibited significantly accelerated recovery of barrier damage, with particularly pronounced effects at 48 and 72 hours.
D.S.B. C SP2 (Trade Name)
The INCI names are Silsesquioxane Salicylate and Methylpropanediol. Silsesquioxane Salicylate is a derivative of salicylic acid, but unlike salicylic acid itself, D.S.B. C does not cause irritation. It offers soothing and anti-allergic benefits while also scavenging free radicals, making it suitable for use in anti-aging cosmetics.

D.S.B.C can effectively inhibit the production of three pro-inflammatory cytokines. Its efficacy is comparable to that of Hydrocortisone HC (0.1%), a commonly used anti-inflammatory control agent in research.

UVB irradiation alters the structure of the epidermis and induces extensive cell death. Human Reconstructed Epidermis (HRE) after irradiation exhibits thickened and detached stratum corneum, along with numerous condensed cell nuclei. These phenomena are not observed in samples treated with D.S.B. C.

D.S.B. C results in the lowest production of malondialdehyde, an oxidation product. This indicates that silanols have an affinity with carbohydrates, the structure of salicylic acid can neutralize free radicals, and D.S.B. C is capable of scavenging free radicals.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide (also known as nicotinamide) is the amide form of nicotinic acid. It appears as a white crystalline powder, is odorless or nearly odorless, has a bitter taste, and is slightly hygroscopic.
Niacinamide acts on existing melanin to reduce its transfer to surface cells, thereby reducing excessive pigmentation.
It interferes with the signaling pathways between keratinocytes and melanocytes, reducing melanin production.
When some melanin inevitably reaches the skin surface, niacinamide accelerates skin cell turnover, promoting the shedding of melanin-containing cells.
